During November, Vigour owner Steve McArthur was recognised at the 2011 Sir Richard Hadlee Sport Canterbury Awards in Christchurch for his contribution to sport. Winning the award ahead of nine other nominees, including some of New Zealand's top sports administrators. The following week at the New Zealand Cricket Awards in Auckland Steve won the 2010/2011 season award, for the best junior cricket initiative in New Zealand.

Steve was travelling in Europe (at the HortiFair and UK Onion & Carrot conference) and missed both ceremonies,. Cath McArthur (pictured) accepted the  awards.
