Rhinestone
Now into its 6th year of harvest in New Zealand, Rhinestone f1 is once again confirming its ability to produce high yields of quality onions. Whilst not as early to mature as the traditional open pollinated early Pukekohe types, Rhinestone f1 offers improved skin numbers, skin colour, skin durability, bulb shape, yield, whilst not losing any of the good features of the EPLK in firmness and storability.
Following 6 seasons of testing in all the main onion growing regions of New Zealand, Rhinestone f1 will be available commercially for sowings in 2010.
Rhinestone f1 has similar high quality bulb characteristics, as its close relative Tilbury f1, with added strengths in early maturity with improved bolting and herbicide tolerance
